It seems like more and more, we are realizing that there is not necessarily a “one-size-fits-all” model of teaching children. As we are currently going through a curriculum reconfiguration in British Columbia, it will be interesting to see the outcomes as children, teachers, and families adapt to a new way of learning and teaching.
It is also interesting to see that non-standard methods of education are not a new concept. It seems like this has been a process that has been going on for decades. It is evident that children are all different and there needs to be efforts made to ensure flexibility in the education system so that children who thrive in non-standard environments are afforded the opportunity to learn and reach their full potential.
